POEM FOR RJ

This is a poem I wrote for RJ Wagner and sent to him for his birthday (Feb 10th):-

IT MUST BE HARD BEING FAMOUS
AN OBJECT OF FEMALE DESIRE
WHO CAN'T EVEN GO OUT IN PUBLIC
WITHOUT SETTING PASSION ON FIRE

SOME WOMEN WANT YOU TO LOVE THEM
LIKE YOU DO IN FILMS AND TV
OTHERS WANT YOU TO FATHER THEIR BABIES
(THEY SEEM LIKE REAL NUTTERS TO ME!)

ACTING SOUNDS VERY DEMANDING
WORKING ALL THOSE IRREGULAR HOURS
I IMAGINE IT MUST HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT
DOING LOVE SCENES WITH STEFANIE POWERS

THEN THERE'S THE PUBLICITY TREADMILL
THAT YOU WISH WOULD JUST GO AWAY
ESPECIALLY WHEN A JERK ASKS A QUESTION
AND YOU THINK "THAT'S THE THIRD TIME TODAY!"

MOST ANNOYING OF ALL ARE THE TABLOIDS
AND PAPARRAZI WHO CONSTANTLY STALK
EVEN WHEN YOU'RE HAVING DINNER
OR TAKING YOUR DOG FOR A WALK

YET DESPITE THE PRESSURES OF STARDOM
WHICH MUST BE A PAIN IN THE ASS
YOU'RE DIFFERENT FROM ALL OF THE OTHERS
BECAUSE IN A WORD YOU HAVE 'CLASS'

H2H On DVD

H2H is finally coming to DVD! Apparently, the series will be released (in season box sets) at four month intervals, starting in October of this year (2005). Stefanie Powers has already agreed to do a commentary, but RJ Wagner has yet to be approached, a situation which I hope is rectified very soon. It would be great to have RJ and Stefanie doing a commentary together for each ep, sharing their experiences of making the show and of working together!

Other 'extras' I'd love to see on the DVDs are 'deleted' scenes, documentaries and 'out-takes'! I've seen a couple of H2H 'out-takes' in RJ Wagner's A & E bio and they were hilarious!

MY FAVORITE H2H LOVE SCENES

1 'Pilot Ep' - Jennifer sneaks into Jonathan's bungalow at the Health Spa. The Harts indulge in an excercise regime that is definitley not on the Health Spa's menu!
2 'Pilot Ep' - The Harts argue and Jennifer threatens not to make love to Jonathan for a whole year. He then asks for "Just one kiss...to remember you by!"
3 'Pilot Ep' - Final Scene on the Harts' Jet. More great banter and kisses! I'll never look at a humble piece of putty in the same way ever again!
4 'Hit Jennifer Hart' - Jonathan and Jennifer discuss Jennifer's cousin, jealousy and love, while indulging in some serious kissing!
5 'Hit Jennifer Hart' - The 'Swimming Pool' scene. The Harts get wet and discover the joys of underwater kissing!
6 'The Harts Strike Out' - The beginning, where the Harts are in bed and Jennifer tells Jonathan "Please don't send nine players up to the plate!" Probably the sexiest scene ever on a 'family' show!
7 'Passport To Murder' - The 'Prison Cell' scene. Very funny, especially when Jennifer encourages Jonathan to flirt with the (female) prison guard! Also quite sexy, especially when Jennifer splashes water on Jonathan's bare chest and tells him "You're such a dirty boy!"
8 'Passport To Murder' - The final scene. Jonathan and Jennifer kiss and cuddle on the deck of a yacht, while wearing very tight shorts!
9 'Two Harts Are Better Than One' - The first meeting in the bar at the Ritz Hotel. The banter between the Harts is pure Tracy & Hepburn!
10 'Two Harts Are Better Than One' - Jonathan lures Jennifer back to his hotel suite and the jetlag catches up with him!
11 'Two Harts Are better Than One' - The Harts share their first kiss...on a Thames Pleasure Boat! Very romantic!
12 'Two Harts Are Better Than One' - The 'Proposal' scene! Great use of Tower Bridge! Thank God she said yes!
13 'What Murder?' - Bedroom scene, in which Jennifer tries an unorthadox method of recovering Jonathan's memory, which isn't mentioned in any medical text books!
14 'Hart Of Darkness' - Jennifer removes the bandages from Jonathan's eyes. In other hands, it could have been corny and mushy - in the hands of Wagner and Powers, it was truly moving!
15 Movie *1 - Horseback riding/Back Of Truck/Hammock. The Harts try a range of 'outdoor' activities!
16 Movie *2 - 'Hot-Tub' scene. Very funny and very suggestive! How on earth did it get past the censors?
17 Movie *2 - 'Klayman's Bridge' Part 1. Very sweet, especially the Jeffrey Klayman story!
18 Movie *2 - 'Klayman's Bridge' Part 2. The Harts Kiss in the middle of the bridge! A romantic ending!
19 Movie *3 - 'Max Is Getting Married?'/Sore Lip. Jonathan breaks the news and Jennifer kisses it better!
20 Movie *3 - 'Massage' scene. Jennifer is massaged by the 'New Blood' in a scene inspired by Tracy & Hepburn!
21 Movie *5 - Jonathan's 'Bad Dweem'. Jonathan is Errol Flynn and Jennifer wears an eye popping dress!
22 Movie *6 - 'The Love Boat' - A brief glimpse of the Harts snuggled in bed together asleep and, apaprently, naked!
23 Movie *7 - 'Kissing On A Jet Plane'. The Harts enjoy a romantic moment in the sky above Australia!
24 Movie *7 - On Elliot's Yacht. Elliot looks on enviously as the Harts act all lovey dovey!

'FRIENDSHIP'

I wrote this poem for RJ Wagner and Stefanie Powers and was able to present them with copies of it in 1990. I felt that their enduring friendship was a rarity, especially in the shallow, superficial world of Hollywood. The bond between them has remained over 40+ years of ups and downs, something which was reflected in their roles in 'Hart to Hart' and 'Love Letters'.

Friendship

Someone who would comfort you
And ease away the pain
Or lend you their umbrella
To protect you from the rain

Someone to share your secrets
In who you can confide
No matter what the problem
They're always at your side

A person who'd watch over you
Protective to the end
Is someone very special
A loyal and faithful friend

INTRODUCTION

This is my creative outlet for thoughts, stories, poems and other writing about my favourite TV show and its stars.

I've loved 'Hart to Hart' since it first aired, way back in the early '80s. It was funny, romantic and exciting, offering escapist fun to fans of all ages.

Jonathan and Jennifer Hart were an impossibly perfect couple, played with panache by Robert Wagner and Stefanie Powers. I was lucky enough to meet Mr Wagner and Ms Powers when they brought the play 'Love Letters' to London in 1990. They were kind, funny and refreshingly down-to-earth.

This blog combines both H2H connected and Wagner/Powers connected creative projects.
